Fizz Friday: Fab Four Roundup

It’s “Fri-Yay,” my dears! With Thanksgiving being literally right around the corner, this week’s Fizz Friday fabulousness is perfect for gearing you up for celebrating the holidays in effervescent style.

Let’s get on with it, shall we?

{1} ‘TIS THE SEASON TO BE SIPPING

Champagne Tasting

Can you believe that Thanksgiving is next week? Even though it snuck up on me, by the same token I’m so glad it’s here because for me the holiday season also equates to premiere champagne drinking season. Since this time of year always bring about a huge uptick in bubbly sales, lots of wine shop; wine makers; restaurants; and others host several champagne tastings and events. In fact, I’ve already got a few sparkling sipping dates on calendar already, and I couldn’t be more excited.

Here are some tasting events for my International bubbly loving darlings. If you live in England click here for tasting events from some marquee {big} champagne houses. To be honest, I’m a little bit jelly of all the champagne houses that do large tasting events in Europe that they won’t bring to The States. For the record, les Américains would love for you to bring your bubbles stateside…hint, hint…

Oh, and if you are in Abu Dhabi {you lucky devil, you} check out what’s bubbly antic you can get into by clicking here.

{2} Moët WANTS YOU TO LIVE IN “THE NOW”

Moet-chandon-the-now-press-picture

Moet & Chandon want you embrace life to the fullest– to adopt an attitude that revels in the thrill of living. To show you that they mean business when it comes to living in the now, the champagne house created {and recently introduced} its new brand film “THE NOW,” that filled with moments that capture the joie de vivre of living a champagne lifestyle. Check out the cool video here.

{3} SPARKLE AND SPARKLERS

Habits de Lumiere light show

The US definitely has its fair share of spectacular holiday light shows, but I don’t think many can top the Epernay Habits de Lumieres in Champagne, France being held December 11th to 13th this year. Every year, for three days in mid December, Epernay in champagne celebrates with 3 spectacular days where the streets are filled with imaginative light shows; street theater groups; live music; and fireworks. Of course it wouldn’t be a proper bubbly celebration without drinks, so many of the major Champagne houses along the Avenue de Champagne are open to the public, with Champagne bars, illuminations, and of course tastings.

Other highlights include famous chefs of the region that are linked with Champagne Houses and Winemakers gathering around La Halle Saint-Thibault market to demonstrate their culinary prowess (including tastings of their masterpieces), and on Sunday there is a huge vintage care parade where anyone who has such a vehicle is also welcomed to participate.

Those French sure know how to party.

{4} Champagne Armand de Brignac Wants you to bet on Black

Armand de Brignac Blanc de Noirs

Champagne Armand de Brignac has rolled its latest, and most expensive, prestige cuvée. Made from purely Pinot Noir grapes, each bottle of the Blanc de Noirs is metallic black; hand polished; features a pewter label; and comes housed in a wooden presentation box. Less than 3,000 bottles will be marketed worldwide, and will ring in at $800 (around £550 to £600).

The Blanc de Noirs had an exclusive premiere launch in September at British luxury store Harrods and is now available at limited, select retailers across the globe. If I have a chance to get my hands on a bottle…

And that wraps up another edition of Fizz Friday. You have now been officially and sufficiently equipped with all the bubbly news you can use this week.

Avoir un bon week-end mes chéris–Have a good weekend, my darlings!
