Monday Mea Culpa…Well, Sort Of

August 31, 2015 by The Bubbleista

sorry I'm not sorry

Soooo…you may have noticed that the posts on the site have been a bit, well, “skimpy” for the last few weeks. A post here…another there…no real sense of normal regularity. In fact, I’m sure some of you have recently come to the site for your regular, weekly, scheduled dose of “fab fizziness” only to end up thinking “Hey…what’s the deal? Where are the normal posts?”

If I was like most bloggers, I would apologize for that. But you already know I’m not like most when it comes to practically everything, so it should come as no surprise that I won’t be saying “sorry” for the recent inconsistency. To be honest, I actually don’t feel like there’s really anything to apologize for.

Now now, before you get yourself all worked up, by no means does this lack of an apology indicate that I don’t care about the fact that you take the time to visit this website. In fact, I most assuredly want you to keep coming. And please know that, without question, I sincerely and truly appreciate it when you do. I have never taken you for granted, and I never will, my dears.

The reason I’m not apologizing for my recent scarcity though is because the last few weeks I’ve been practicing just what I preach. Remember that #MotivationMonday post I did a couple of weeks ago about living your life with grace and cutting yourself some slack every once in a while? Well, that’s exactly what I’ve been doing: I cut my self some slack and granted myself an extra measure of grace when it came to writing and uploading blog posts for the site.

Grace CollageIt’s not that I haven’t wanted to post, it’s that I’ve been quite a bit overwhelmed {more than usual} as of late with all that I need–and want–to get done, both professionally and creatively. Adding to the pressure was/is that some of these tasks had/have a deadline attached to them. So rather than further compound my overwhelm by forcing myself to write new posts {which surely would have resulted in: (1) a very “un-pretty” downward mental spiral AND; (2) some ultimately crappy writing}, I gave myself permission to not write at all.

Yep, just like that, I decided not to write if I didn’t feel up to it. That decision I made for myself is exact what living with grace is all about.

Okay, I hear you. You’re saying “I’m cool with the ‘grace thing’ and all, but what in the world have you been up to, Bubbs, that’s been keeping you so busy that you couldn’t even churn out a couple of blog posts?” I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again–you always ask the best questions. Well, darlings, here are the answers:

WHAT’S BEEN ON THE BUBB’S PLATE

  • For starters, for the last 3 weeks I’ve been completly consumed with studying for my WSET Level 2 wine and spirits exam, which I just took this past Saturday. Because there was SO MUCH material to digest and process, I really needed to focus on it which meant that time had to be taken from other things in order to have the best opportunity to succeed. I’ll find out at the beginning of October whether or not I passed, but I feel really good about the effort I made, and I’m confident that the results will be good. Besides, when I learn more, you learn more. Sounds like a win-win, no?
  • Second, if you’ve fully read my “About” page, you know that I’m still a practicing lawyer. No matter where my champagne adventures take me {and believe it, I have plans for them to take me VERY FAR!}, I know I will always practice or use my law degree in one way or another. That’s why I’ve decided to launch a website for my boutique law practice where I’ll focus on Trademarks, Copyrights, Small Business law, and branding for creative entrepreneurs, with a focus on women CEOs. I will take on a limited number of clients. This project combines my experience as a Trademark Attorney with the US Patent & Trademark office; my creativity; and my inherent desire to help and encourage others. When the site launches you’ll be the first to know!
  • Lastly, for my pièce de résistance: speaking of champagne adventures, I am beyond excited to let you in on a secret, new champagne-centric website that I’ll be launching later this year that’ll be a veritable mecca for bubble lovers! If living a fabulous “champagne lifestyle” is what you aspire to, then this venture will fit the bill and then some. Here’s a hint: think products, services, and travel. It’s a really spectacular vision that’s been in the making for quite some time, so stay tuned for more exciting details leading up to the big reveal!

See, I told you; I actually have been quite busy. And the best part of it is that all that busyness will result in things that I know you will Ab. So. Lute. Ly. love!

So thank you for being, well, gracious in allowing me to extend grace to myself during this little blogging hiatus. It may not be the last time it happens, but I know that if it does happen again you will understand, and you’ll also know that the break will certainly be worthwhile.

Promise me that you’ll always remember that I don’t take you for granted, loves, and know that there’s lots more wonderfulness to come. I’m glad you’ll be sticking around for the journey, and I promise you that you’ll enjoy the ride!

Returning to a more regular posting schedule in 5, 4, 3, 2….{wink}

Everybody loves a good dinner party, but not everybody loves doing everything it takes to host a good dinner party.
