As for my cooking style, as I’ve said tons of times before, I don’t do status quo. That in and of itself should explain the distinctive name this tasty little recipe.
I actually came up with this idea about 7 years ago during one of my “wild hair” culinary moments. My brother Dennis and I were going to our good friend’s place {Hey, Sonia!} to gather with some other mutual friends for no other purpose but to eat good food and drink good booze.
Ah, good times.
I wanted to bring a delish dish to the festivities, and for some reason I was on a duck breast kick at that time. Inspired by Duck L’Orange I somehow came up with the idea of putting a slice of duck breast on top of a crispy, fried wonton chip and drizzling it with plum sauce.
It. Was. A. HIT.
The recipe has grown, changed, and been refined a bit since then, and has become even more delicious if I must say so myself. Not only does it taste amazing but it’s also an aesthetically beautiful dish too that’s sure to be a show stopper if you’re entertaining friends.
